Chandranath Basu (born 31 August 1844, died 20 June 1910) was a prominent Bengali intellectual of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. He was the second son of Sitanath Basu and a resident of the Hooghly district in the Bengal Presidency. An alumnus of the famed Presidency College, he went on to have an illustrious career in both legal and official capacities. He initially served as the deputy magistrate of Dhaka (now in Bangladesh).
