M.G. Devasahayam is a soldier, administrator and economist with a distinguished career spanning over several decades. He has direct and firsthand experience in the working and ethos of the Indian Army, Indian Administrative Service (IAS), public and private sector, political system as well as NGOs. He fought the India–Pakistan War of 1965, participated in the counterinsurgency operations in Nagaland (196768) and entered the IAS in 1968.
